Welcome

We are Crosspoint Church. We are best described as a small church with a BIG heart. We work hard to make all our guests know that they are welcome and valued.

After a turbulent couple of years, we really understand how difficult it is for people to begin to connect again. However, we are here and would love the opportunity to connect with you either at our Sunday service or more informally through the many events we run at the Crosspoint Hub.

Are you new to the church or the area?  If so, you are very welcome. Please check out our Visitor Information page to find out what goes on at our church.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning at Crosspoint Church. Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we first want you to know that you will be warmly welcomed. We are a small community of believers, around 20 persons at the moment, so it won't take you long to get to know us at all!

When and Where?

We meet in the back hall of the Great Barr Methodist Church and Crosspoint Church is clearly signposted. Our Sunday Service starts at 11 am for our Sunday service.  There is parking either right in front of the building or on the residential streets around the church.  For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking space and are comfortably seated before the service begins. When you arrive, you will be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will be standing near the door. He or she will welcome you and answer any questions you may have.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and parking right near the entrance.  Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets in the main foyer.

Our service

Our service begins at 11 am with a warm welcome from one of our pastors. Then follows a time of sung worship, led by either or worship leader or via a recorded soundtrack. Either way, we typically have 2 or 3 songs lasting approximately 20 minutes. Sometimes a person might pray out loud or read a small passage from the bible. Sometimes people share things that they believe God is saying to the whole church family. This might seem strange the first time you hear it but it’s all part of our connecting with God. We then share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church. One of our leaders will then give a sermon that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We then finish with either a final worship song or a prayer. We also offer anyone an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service.

We want our times together to be interactive as well as inspiring and so the format of the service may change.
For example one week, we may be seated around tables to discuss a particular topic from the bible and on another Sunday we may be seated in rows. That's the exciting thing about our Church. You never know what to expect, but you know it will be relevant, thought-provoking and inspiring. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the service. It is a great way to meet people.  All refreshments are free.

What about my kids?

We don't have a kids' programme set up at the moment, although we have the room. We know this isn't great for parents or carers. The good news is that we are looking to change this and set up a great programme for kids. We do have activity packs available and one of us will always volunteer to look after the kids so that you can enjoy the service. Just ask one of our welcome team. We will be happy to help you. We take safeguarding extremely seriously and there are trained individuals readily available to look after your little loved ones.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your normal clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all! You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.

Getting Connected

Small Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. Please contact one of the pastors who will be happy to support you.

Interest Groups

We have a wide range of activity groups throughout the month to choose from. These range from craft groups, well-being groups, study groups etc.   Please take a look at the activities being run from the Crosspoint Hub to find out more information.
